Catch Me The Moon-Late October Zone 4 Garden

This afternoon I went to the garden and picked these roses! Here we are so close to November and I still have colors in the garden. The roses are enjoying the 70 degree days and don’t seem to mind the 20 to 30 degree nights.

A couple of days ago, as the sun was going down Ted and I were sitting in the garden. We were watching the birds and squirrels. I pulled out my camera to capture some fall color.

I played with taking pictures looking to the setting sun.

Several years ago I planted this Mancana ash. I never thought of matching the yellow color with the little pink and yellow house. The little house is only 7ft by 7ft and is attached to the back garage. Last night was almost a full moon. Ted and I drove to the top of a hill here in town and I asked Ted to catch me the moon.

He did.

  7. What will the rest of us do now that you have caught the moon? Will Ted put it back?

Your late fall roses are so pretty, and apparently they thrive in the failing light and cold nights of this season. Lovely!

  12. Annelie, Yes it is amazing how much our temperatures can change in a day. Even in the winter we usually get bright sunshine

  13. Carol, Thank you for such a nice comment. That day I was a bit dragging, fighting a cold or maybe it was allergies and Ted said "let's go see if we can take that moon picture that you've been talking about." He got me out in the fresh air and I did feel better.

  14. Garden of Threads, Thank you - Yes the picture came out better than I thought. I had hope to catch the moon as it came over the horizon, but we live near a forest and the rangers have been doing a "control burn" so we didn't see the moon until it was high. But he reached out and got it :)
