This summer has been so hot! Several days over 100 degrees. I can remember summers where we rarely turned on the AC. This summer it has run almost every day. And we have had so little rain. But early in the morning I visit my garden with a hose in my hand and weed as I water. This area is by the pond, close to the house. I have plants that take a bit more water near the house. Last year I laid out 400 feet of drip irrigation. On super hot days I can just turn on the timers. My water bill is only about $10 to $20 more than in the winter. I mulch and mulch and need to mulch much more…

Twenty years ago our neighbor asked me if I wanted this millstone! Oh yea! She did not have to ask twice. I don’t remember how many guys it took to move it, but once we plunked it down in this spot here it stayed. My dear stepdaughter just wrote a book! It is laugh-out-loud mystery, actually 2 mysteries in one and yet the most touching story. It does not have actual zebras or zombies in the story. You need to read the book to find out what the title means.

Your plants and flowers don't look like they feel the heat, unlike when we are in our dry season, when our plants really die because of the heat. AT least you have mechanized system of watering them, when in our case even water for our own use is sometimes difficult. Oh how privileged you are in this world. And i know we are even more privileged than those in some other parts! Congrats to your daughter!
ReplyDeleteAndrea, thank you...I know we have so much to be thankful for and there are so many things we take for granted. When God put Adam and Eve on the earth we were all meant to live in a Paradise, living as one big family. Unfortunately God's plan had to make a change, but the Bible tells us that his purpose does not change and in the future His earth will be a Paradise....Meanwhile we need to be thankful and try to live wisely.
